Wednesday, June 6th

7:10 Minnesota @ Kansas City

Wednesday marks the last meeting of the series between Minnesota and Kansas City.  Tonight’s game will be the rubber match, with Kansas City winning last night in a pitcher’s duel: 1 – 0. Minnesota took the first game 10 – 7.

On the mound tonight for the away team is Nick Blackburn.  Blackburn has had a tough year this year with a 1 – 4 record coming into tonight.  In his last 5 games he has given up 24 runs in 22 innings of work.  His last outing was the worst of them all at Detroit where he gave up 6 runs in only 2 innings. Minnesota seems to be figuring out their troubles, having won 6 out of their last 8 games and taking the series against both Cleveland and Oakland.

On the mound for Kansas City will be the extremely productive Felipe Paulino. Currently, Paulino is 3 -1 with a 1.70 ERA.  In his last 4 games he has only given up 3 earned runs. All of which came at Baltimore on May 26th. Kansas City has won their last three series’ against Baltimore, Cleveland, and Oakland.

Expect Kansas City to pull out the series W tonight with a decisive victory.  Blackburn might be able to hold back KC’s offense for a couple of innings, but sooner or later they will break through and it could be devastating for Minnesota.  Felipe Paulino will continue on his old ways tonight - shutting down the opponent’s bats and leading his team to a comfortable victory.

Projected score:  Kansas City 7 - Minnesota 3

Pick: Best Bet Kansas City RL (+120)
