Tuesday, June 12th

 7:10 Philadelphia @ Minnesota

Philadelphia will be on the road again in for another series against an AL foe, but this series will have some different results than the last series against Baltimore.  Philadelphia dropped 2 out of 3 against Baltimore over the weekend, which extends a losing trend dropping 8 out of their last 9 games.

Philadelphia will be bringing Kyle Kendrick on the mound tonight in hopes of bucking the recent trend and getting a much needed win.  In his last 5 starts he has given up 10 runs in 33 innings pitched.  His best start during that span was a complete game shutout on May 26th against the St Louis Cardinals.  Overall Kendrick’s has a 2 – 5 record and a 4.44 ERA.  Philadelphia has been in hole since day one in the NL East and desperately needs to start winning games and this could be the perfect opportunity for them.

Nick Blackburn will be starting for the Minnesota Twins.  Blackburn has not had much success this year posting a 2 – 4 record and a 7.75 ERA.  He has only had one start since returning from the DL and in that game he was a little sharper giving up only 2 runs to the Kansas City Royals.  Minnesota has been pretty good as of late going 9 - 3 in their last 12 games.

Philadelphia should be able to put up runs against a struggling Blackburn tonight.  Expect Philadelphia to score early and it should help pave the way for a victory.  Minnesota’s recent success has dampened this play down to a decent play, but the value is still there in this situation.

Projected score: Philadelphia 6 – Minnesota 4

Pick: Decent Play Philadelphia (-125)
