9:10 San Diego @ Seattle

Seattle will be looking for revenge after losing last night to the San Diego Padres with their ace pitcher on the mound Felix Hernandez.  Tonight should be an interesting game to say the least with Jason Marquis pitching for San Diego and Hector Noesi for Seattle.

Jason Marquis has had a long year with a 2-5 record and a 7.65 ERA.  He has only had 18 k’s on the year and one-third of those came in his last outing against San Francisco, even though they still managed to lose the game 3 – 8.  In his last five starts Marquis has an ERA of 8.74 with giving up as many runs as innings pitched 22.  In those 5 games, 2 of them were quality starts which were against San Francisco and Seattle where he only gave up 2 runs in 6 innings of work.  The other 3 games he has given up at least 5 runs in under 5 innings pitched.

Seattle has basically the same kind of story going on at pitcher.  Hector Noesi has a 2 – 6 record and an ERA just under 6.  In his last 2 outings he has given up 6 runs.  Noesi’s pitching has been very erratic this year with some quality starts and some starts where he gets rocked.

Tonight in Seattle we are expecting there to be many runs scored.  Each of the team’s starting pitchers have had very bad years and I don’t see them improving on it tonight.  Both teams should be reaching for their bullpens early tonight making them stretch out a little further than they would usually like.  The bats have not been too loud for either of the teams, but we should see them able to get some runs easily tonight with the level of the starting pitching.

Projected score: San Diego 6 – Seattle 5

Pick: Decent Play San Diego @ Seattle Over 8
